This 50,000 SF addition/renovation created a new oncology care department for Riverview Medical Center. A new atrium with covered drop off provides an inviting arrival space that links the multi-story program. The program includes radio-therapy, nuclear medicine, an outpatient clinic, a 25-bed inpatient unit, and a large community meeting room. In the infusion center the exterior masonry was replaced with floor-to-ceiling glass to take advantage of views and create a soothing environment for lengthy treatments. Patient beds were also oriented towards the river view. The Multi-D Clinic is designed to enable patients to see several specialist in a single visit. Support spaces for the clinical team are duplicated to breakdown the scale of the clinic and minimize staff travel distances. Natural materials were used throughout the project complimented by earth tones to provide an environment that eases the stress of cancer car. The $20,000,000 project is based on a multi-disciplinary care model.
